Lead Test Engineer

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop the test engineering organization (Test Specialists and Senior Test Engineers), including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Set priorities, allocate resources across multiple customer programs, and define team objectives and KPIs aligned with company growth.
• Act as the highest-level technical authority for electrical test: review/approve test programs, fixtures, and validation methods before release.
• Design and continuously improve scalable test processes to improve throughput, first-pass yield, repeatability, automation, and overall test efficiency.
• Oversee test program and fixture development/maintenance, including revision control and configuration management of test assets.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to remove bottlenecks and resolve production-critical testing issues.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident/green card holder) to meet ITAR requirements.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in electrical test, manufacturing engineering, production test, or a related manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years leading or managing technical teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong electrical fundamentals (continuity, resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric withstand/hipot, Ohm’s Law) and ability to read/interpret wire lists, schematics, and connector drawings.
• Extensive experience developing automated electrical test programs and fixtures for complex electromechanical assemblies; strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading test organizations in AS9100 or NASA 8739.4 environments.
• Experience with RF cable testing (insertion loss/S21, return loss, VSWR, vector network analyzers).
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS or CIT certification.
• Experience supporting customer witness testing, First Article Inspection (FAI), and qualification programs.
• Experience implementing new automated test equipment and scalable production test systems.
