Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Location: Must be UK-based and able to commute to Hammersmith (onsite at least 3 days per week). Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable production-grade systems for the Allocations team.
• Solve complex backend, infrastructure, and AI/ML pipeline challenges.
• Write maintainable, clean, and well-tested code.
• Collaborate with product, data, and commercial stakeholders to shape technical solutions.
• Mentor other engineers and improve overall technical quality and observability.

Requirements

• Experience in a fast-growing scale-up or product environment.
• Strong backend skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, performance, and scalability.
• Proficiency with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and modern deployment.
• Must be located in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
