What you will do

• Lead sourcing engineering for Research & Technology (R&T) and early-stage product development initiatives.
• Identify and engage suppliers early in the technology development lifecycle using Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) methodologies.
• Scout emerging manufacturing technologies and supplier innovations to create competitive advantages.
• Serve as the technical liaison between engineering teams and suppliers, translating design requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify technical and business risks associated with new technologies and develop effective mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to balance technical requirements, quality, cost, and supply continuity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of related experience, Master's with 2+ years, or PhD.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization (sponsorship is only available for Principal-level roles and above).
• Experience in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, or product development.
• Ability to work a minimum of 4 days a week onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience in science disciplines, supplier engineering, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of medical device manufacturing processes and regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0, AI, machine learning, or digital health technologies.
• Experience with strategic technology partnerships and supplier technology scouting.
