Sr. Automation Service Engineer (Medtech): Providing site-wide support, service, and maintenance of laboratory instruments for precision cancer therapies and diagnostics with an accent on installation, calibration, and integration of automated systems. Focus on troubleshooting high-complexity robotic systems like Hamilton STAR/Verso and ensuring compliance with CLIA/CAP guidelines.

Location: Onsite in Fremont, CA. Must work 3rd shift (Tues-Sat, 10pm - 6:30am)

Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year

What you will do

• Act as the first line of contact for equipment support and resolve instrumentation-related problems for lab users.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on Hamilton STAR, Hamilton Verso, and other automated laboratory equipment.
• Execute qualification reports (IQ/OQ/PQ) and maintain calibration records following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Develop SOPs, checklists, and internal knowledgebases to distribute information on new technologies.
• Collaborate with QA and Operations to define QC routines and provide support for NCRs and CAPAs.
• Train operations technicians on routine activities and basic troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

• BS degree in engineering or a related discipline with minimum 5 years of industry experience.
• Extensive experience servicing life science equipment, specifically Hamilton Robotics or similar liquid handlers.
• Proven expertise in performing Hamilton STAR PM, servicing Hamilton Verso, and metrology activities.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Fremont, CA.
• Available to work the 3rd shift (Tues-Sat, 10pm-6:30am) and participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience working in regulated environments such as ISO 13485, CLIA, or CAP.
