What you will do

• Manage a small team of data scientists and data engineers to research, design, develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning, AI, and agentic AI solutions for Claims.
• Lead projects end-to-end: define scope, manage timelines, and communicate progress, insights, results, and recommendations to business partners and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, IT, and business partners to operationalize ML/AI solutions.
• Own model governance across planning, documentation, validation, deployment, monitoring, and review.
• Oversee model performance and drive continuous improvement of deployed solutions.
• Coach and mentor team members to maintain technical excellence in AI/ML, software engineering, and solution design.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or another STEM field plus 6–8 years of experience in a data science/analytics environment (insurance industry experience preferred).
• At least 6 years of experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience developing and deploying predictive models into production.
• Experience with software development best practices, including Git, code reviews, testing, and model lifecycle management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts and analytical insights to business stakeholders and senior leadership.

Nice to have

• PhD in a STEM field with 4–6 years of insurance industry experience in data science/analytics/AI.
• Prior experience mentoring or managing talent.
• Claims experience.
