What you will do

• Lead the Kestrel event search frontend initiative, replacing Advanced Event Search with a customizable, analyst-centric UI.
• Own the frontend technical vision and roadmap for LogScale, including dashboards, data visualization, query editing, and web components.
• Manage and grow a team of frontend engineers: hiring, mentorship, career development, and fostering ownership and collaboration.
• Partner with Product, UX, and backend teams to translate customer needs into well-architected frontend solutions for massive datasets.
• Drive frontend architecture decisions balancing delivery speed with long-term maintainability, ensuring performance, testability, and accessibility.
• Set engineering standards and improve feature quality using observability, user feedback, and production metrics.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the Aarhus, Denmark region
• 7+ years of frontend software engineering experience with modern web frameworks (React, Ember, Angular or similar) and languages like TypeScript and JavaScript.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading frontend or full-stack teams, including hiring and delivering complex product initiatives.
• Deep knowledge of frontend architecture patterns for large-scale web applications (state management, component design, performance optimization, testing).
• Experience building interactive, data-dense UIs and data visualization (e.g., D3, Highcharts, Vega or similar).
• Proven ability to partner cross-functionally (Product, UX, backend) and communicate technical decisions clearly across levels.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elm or Ember.
• Experience building search interfaces, query editors, or developer tooling UIs (syntax highlighting, autocomplete, error handling).
• Familiarity with log management, observability, or cybersecurity products.
• Exposure to GraphQL APIs and designing efficient frontend data layers for complex datasets.
• Background in accessibility standards and WCAG-compliant web applications.
