Senior Software Engineer (POS)

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate customer-facing point-of-sale experiences across React Native, Expo, TypeScript, and Python services.
• Develop offline-first capabilities using SQLite, write-ahead logging, synchronization, retries, and conflict-handling workflows.
• Build and operate Python/FastAPI backend services for authentication, staff and device workflows, menus, orders, payments, receipts, and hotel-system integrations.
• Design APIs, data models, caching, synchronization, and recovery paths with PostgreSQL, Valkey, REST, and distributed service integrations.
• Own infrastructure, deployment configuration, observability, automated testing, release quality, performance, security, and production support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Payments, Accounting, Reservations, Infrastructure, Security, and engineering teams through architecture decisions, code reviews, mentoring, and pair programming.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and operating production applications, with strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with modern mobile or frontend development; React Native, Expo, React Query, Zustand, and SQLite are highly relevant.
• Strong fundamentals in maintainable architecture, automated testing, debugging, performance, security, and operational reliability.
• Experience with relational data modeling, PostgreSQL, caching, API design, distributed systems, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.
• Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD, AWS, CI/CD, observability, and production incident response.
• Experience with point-of-sale or adjacent transactional systems, offline-first applications, mobile hardware integrations, payment processing, e-invoicing, fiscalization, or hospitality and food-and-beverage operations.
• Business-level English fluency with strong written communication and collaboration skills in a remote, globally distributed team.
