Location: Hybrid (3 days office, 2 days remote). Must be based in or able to commute to Bristol or Ipswich, UK. Must be eligible for security clearance+.

What you will do

• Design and deliver repeatable, scalable solution architectures to meet complex government requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, setting the overall technical strategy.
• Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to conduct technical discovery and define scope.
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture guardrails and industry solution patterns.
• Mentor other solution architects and act as a technical expert for architecture governance.
• Champion emerging trends in solution architecture and contribute to long-term strategic direction.

Requirements

• Eligibility for security clearance+ is mandatory.
• Proven expertise in System Design and Architecture for scalable and robust software systems.
• Mastery of at least one programming language (e.g., React, TypeScript, C#, ASP.net, Java, SQL).
• Experience with code reviews, test-driven development (TDD), and high security standards.
• Must be able to work hybridly from Bristol or Ipswich offices.

Nice to have

• Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills across the full stack.
• Deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms for performance optimization.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.
• CISP certification or a commitment to work towards obtaining it.
