Senior Technical Manager (Robotics)

Location: Beijing office, China; onsite work required with frequent business travel mainly across Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai

What you will do

• Execute onsite testing, certification, and risk assessments for robotic systems in accordance with international safety standards.
• Conduct technical evaluations and gap analyses for logistics, cleaning, industrial, service, and humanoid robots.
• Review testing schemes, certification applications, technical documents, and test reports.
• Design customized technical solutions and provide onsite support for complex, high-risk projects.
• Support laboratory accreditation maintenance by updating technical documentation and participating in official assessments.
• Coach team members on safety standards, PLC control, software testing, and technical delivery practices; support commercial teams during presales and tenders.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in robot testing, functional safety, risk assessment, or third-party testing and certification.
• Strong practical experience with onsite technical evaluation, project delivery, client communication, technical review, and cross-departmental coordination.
• Experience supporting laboratory qualification maintenance and accreditation assessments; familiarity with CNAS and other accreditation criteria.
• Proficiency in ISO 13849 and IEC 61508, with familiarity with EN ISO 12100, EN 60204-1, ISO 10218-1/2, ISO 13482, and ISO 18646-1/2.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
• Good English reading and writing skills are required for preparing technical documents, test reports, training materials, and communicating with clients and accreditation bodies.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with service robots, industrial robots, humanoid robots, PLC automation, or software testing.
