Design Engineer (iOS)

Design Engineer (iOS): Conceiving, prototyping, and iterating new products for the core Snapchat application with an accent on functional mobile experiences and creative tooling. Focus on bridging the gap between design and engineering to ship polished products used by hundreds of millions of people.

Location: Must be based in Los Angeles (Office 4+ days per week)

What you will do

• Conceive, prototype, and iterate new products and fully functional mobile experiences.
• Build creative tooling and internal systems to improve workflows across Snap.
• Collaborate with product designers and user researchers to test and iterate on feedback.
• Present and pitch ideas and work directly to the CEO and company leadership.
• Lead cross-functional teams with product managers and engineering to polish and refine end products.
• Prototype on various platforms, including web, AR, and AI.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience (or equivalent with Master's/PhD).
• Proficiency in iOS application development using Swift and/or Objective-C.
• 3+ years of experience driving product strategy and design decisions.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Ability to rapidly prototype high-fidelity mobile experiences.
• A portfolio showcasing strong mobile design skills.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with design and rapid prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Framer, Origami, Principle).
• Expertise in hardware, AI, 3D graphics, or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
• A unique perspective on product design or a specific technical field.
