Senior Staff Software Engineer, Mobile (iOS)

Location: US Remote

Salary: $218,300–$327,500 USD annually for Zone 1 US locations; $204,000–$306,000 USD annually for other US locations. International compensation varies by location.

What you will do

• Define the multi-year technical vision, architecture principles, engineering standards, and platform frameworks for the iOS organization.
• Lead the design of mobile frameworks and foundational systems serving tens of thousands of field technicians.
• Partner with product, design, data, backend, executive, and VP-level leadership on long-range roadmaps and cross-company architecture.
• Architect scalable GraphQL integrations and establish data access and API design patterns.
• Drive adoption and evolution of The Composable Architecture, shared state patterns, performance optimization, and modular design.
• Set engineering standards, define AI-assisted development practices, and mentor senior and staff engineers.

Requirements

• 12+ years of mobile application development experience with deep iOS specialization.
• Expert-level Swift knowledge, including language internals, performance, and idiomatic design.
• Experience defining architecture for large-scale mobile platforms across multiple teams.
• Strong hands-on GraphQL experience and ability to design scalable mobile data access patterns.
• Deep command of The Composable Architecture, including shared state, performance, and modular decomposition.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Senior Staff-level experience and company-wide engineering strategy leadership.
• SwiftUI adoption across complex production iOS codebases.
• Large-scale distributed systems and mobile/backend interface experience.
• MVI architecture, CI/CD with Bitrise or GitHub Actions, and end-to-end test automation.
• Open-source contributions or public technical writing in iOS engineering.
