Principal Quality Engineer (Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Maintain the quality management system, related procedures, quality instructions, and customer-requested reports.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process issues, failures, and customer complaints.
• Lead continual improvement activities, including 5S and Kaizen lean methods, and improve receiving quality inspection processes.
• Conduct audits, close audit findings, and determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage supplier quality performance, audits, scorecards, and resolution of supplier failures in collaboration with supply chain and materials management.
• Analyze quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction data and coordinate product-quality improvements with engineering, operations, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

• BS degree in science and at least four years of related experience.
• Hands-on understanding of manufacturing and operations processes, especially in the telecommunications industry.
• Experience in quality engineering and familiarity with board and system assembly.
• Experience developing reliability measurements such as MTBF, DOA, IRR, and YRR.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, manage staff, and solve problems in electro-mechanical assembly operations.
• Ability to identify statistical methods, sample sizes, acceptable error, and confidence levels relevant to manufacturing quality improvement.
