Salary: $60,000 – $65,000

What you will do

• Perform analog preservation functions, including holdings maintenance and rehousing.
• Execute digital preservation tasks using the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) model.
• Create archival descriptions and normalize metadata to enable search and discovery.
• Develop, document, and maintain archival processes and best practices.
• Generate routine and ad-hoc reports for NASA Office of Communication (OCOMM) management.
• Respond to queries from academic researchers and the general public regarding archival holdings.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in research, analysis, and preservation of documents and materials.
• Master’s degree in library science or library and information science from an ALA-accredited institution (or membership in the Academy of Certified Archivists).
• Must be a US citizen.
• Expertise in metadata standards such as DACS, Dublin Core, and ISAD(G).
• Experience with archival tools including AtoM, Webrecorder, BitCurator, ePADD, Archivematica, or ArchivesSpace.

• Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) certification.
