Principal Fullstack Engineer (Python)

TL;DR

Location: Remote (Must be based in the Northeast U.S.) with monthly in-person co-working sessions.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and technical infrastructure powering the subscription platform.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle from planning and implementation to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers in an agile environment to deliver high-impact features.
• Integrate 3rd-party services to enhance product functionality and customer experience.
• Optimize existing systems through refactoring, automation, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain a stable, resilient platform.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience with Python frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• 10+ years of experience building API systems using REST, OAuth2, and JSON.
• Professional experience with JavaScript frontend frameworks like React or Angular.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
• Must be based in the Northeast U.S.
• Experience utilizing AI models and tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to boost productivity.

Nice to have

• Experience with Django, React, or NodeJS.
• Knowledge of Shopify, JSON Schema, and OpenAPI.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Contributions to the open source community.
