TL;DR

Software Developer (Automotive Embedded Systems): Designing and deploying virtual test environments and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) integration for embedded vehicle controllers with an accent on propulsion, battery management, and chassis control systems. Focus on building virtual controller models, implementing HWIO/RTOS components, and optimizing simulation workflows using Python and CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Milford, MI (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office).

What you will do

  • Develop and integrate co-simulation components to meet system-level test requirements.
  • Create and maintain virtual controller models for use in dynamic simulations.
  • Implement and test virtual components including HWIO, RTOS, and communication models.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to define simulation assets and parameterize sub-system models.
  • Support released simulations through troubleshooting, issue triage, and user guidance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, scripts, and CI/CD workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of: Python, C/C++, Java, or Embedded C.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile/issue tracking tools (Jira).
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and software development best practices.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Milford, MI three days per week.

Nice to have

  • Master of Science degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, Ethernet).
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as FMU/FMI, SSP, or AUTOSAR.
  • Experience with full-stack development (React, FastAPI, PostgreSQL).
