Senior Autonomy Development Engineer (C++/Robotics): Developing and delivering production‑quality software for autonomous and semi‑autonomous heavy equipment in mining and construction environments with an accent on robust software engineering and real-world deployment. Location: Onsite five days a week in Mossville, IL; Pittsburgh, PA; or Irving, TX. Visa sponsorship is NOT available.

Salary: $112,710.00 - $183,140.00

What you will do

• Develop production‑quality C/C++ software for autonomy and automation systems.
• Participate in the full SDLC, including design, documentation, coding, validation, and release support.
• Contribute to software and system requirements, architecture decisions, and technical trade‑offs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system issues using structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Support verification, validation, and functional safety activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

Requirements

• Excellent proficiency in C++ and structured programming techniques.
• Strong experience in software engineering practices, debugging, and profiling.
• Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to the US and work onsite 5 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience in autonomy domains such as planning, positioning, perception, or controls.
• Knowledge of robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS).
• Experience with Linux-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Embedded C/C++ development for real-time systems (AUTOSAR, CAN, Ethernet).
• Model-based development using Matlab/Simulink.
• Industry experience in construction or mining.
