Location: Must be based in the UK (Stirling, Edinburgh, or Reading). This role is hybrid.

What you will do

• Lead the design and build of scalable data pipelines and architecture for actuarial modelling.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency through robust validation and governance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Optimize data systems to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Lead and mentor other data engineers and analysts, including people management responsibilities.
• Support the integration of multiple data sources into cohesive, trusted datasets.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK with the right to work.
• Strong expertise in data engineering concepts, pipelines, and storage.
• Proficiency in Azure Databricks, Spark, Spark SQL, and Python/PySpark.
• Experience working in a heavily audited environment, preferably UK Financial Services.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and quality management principles.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
