What you will do

• Lead and mentor a lean team of security engineers, managing prioritization and tradeoffs to maximize meaningful impact.
• Integrate foundational security tooling and automation across corporate, infrastructure, and application layers in partnership with engineering, IT, legal, and compliance.
• Develop security strategies using OKRs, KPIs, and roadmaps, and advocate for security priorities during cross-functional planning.
• Manage compliance with security frameworks (CIS, SOC2, PCI-DSS, ISO27001, GDPR) by designing sustainable controls.
• Lead incident response efforts, improving investigation/resolution and maturing response plans and threat modeling.
• Develop security strategies for AI and machine learning integrations and drive cultural change through education.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and managing security teams in an agile, high-growth environment.
• Proven track record taking a company through security framework adoption from scratch (e.g., first SOC2 or ISO27001 certification).
• Strong technical player-coach capability to dive into technical initiatives and guide security engineers directly.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for proposals, strategies, and risk presentations.
• Deep knowledge of modern security practices including cloud security, access controls, and secure software development, with incident response experience.
• Experience with security governance for AI/ML systems and proactive risk management for emerging technologies.
