What you will do

• Maintain and modernize real-time services within the Telephony Engine.
• Build and optimize low-latency media pipelines for voice and video.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues across PSTN and WebRTC boundaries.
• Run load, failover, and regression tests to validate system scalability and resilience.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design end-to-end call flows and integrations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and manage infrastructure rollouts using Terraform and GKE.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada (Vancouver or Kitchener)
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in SaaS or real-time communications.
• Deep expertise in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with or strong interest in SIP, WebRTC, RTP/RTCP, and media codec negotiation.
• Understanding of reliability engineering and observability.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience troubleshooting real-time media quality issues like jitter and packet loss.
• Familiarity with Go or Lua.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
