Broadcast Engineer (Audio-over-IP)

Broadcast Engineer (Audio-over-IP): Maintaining and optimizing broadcast infrastructure for major UK radio brands with an accent on Audio-over-IP (AoIP) systems and studio audio signal flow. Location: Based in London, UK. Hybrid arrangement with an increasing need for regular on-site presence at The Lantern (Euston).

What you will do

• Diagnose and resolve studio and broadcast faults quickly to minimize disruption to live services.
• Maintain studio audio systems, including microphones, mixing consoles, routing, and talkback systems.
• Support digital playout, automation, scheduling, and logging platforms.
• Manage Audio-over-IP (AoIP) broadcast infrastructure and assist with video-over-IP streaming.
• Provide technical support for presenters, producers, journalists, and content teams.
• Participate in an on-call rota to support critical broadcast operations.

Requirements

• Experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, or audio engineering.
• Strong understanding of audio signal flow and broadcast workflows.
• Proficiency with AoIP technologies such as Livewire, Dante, AES67, or Axia.
• Experience working with radio playout and automation systems.
• Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and IP-based workflows.
• Must be based in or be able to work regularly from London, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with RCS Zetta or similar playout platforms.
• Knowledge of FM, DAB, or IP distribution systems.
• Experience with video production or streaming technologies.
• Outside Broadcast (OB) or live event experience.
