Broadcast Support Team Lead

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 5-7 Broadcast Support Engineers.
• Act as the technical lead during service-affecting incidents, coordinating resolution and communication.
• Ensure high operational availability for Broadcast Playout platforms, Live Events Hub, and MCR.
• Conduct complex fault investigations, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to transition new technologies into operational support.
• Coordinate planned engineering activities, including software upgrades and infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

• Significant experience supporting complex broadcast environments, specifically Playout and MCR.
• Proven experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers in a live operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of broadcast signal chains, production workflows, and playout technologies.
• Experience with compressed and uncompressed IP video workflows (SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2022).
• Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, VLANs).
• Must have the right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of Zixi Zen Master.
• Strong analytical and structured fault-finding skills.
