Junior Quantitative Developer (Python, ML): Develop and maintain quantitative tools, analytics, and models that support commercial decision-making for North American power and environmental markets with an accent on productionizing and optimizing ML-based models and building cloud-based infrastructure. Salary: $150,000–$180,000 USD annually

What you will do
- Support West Power and Carbon trading desks by productionizing, optimizing, and maintaining ML-based models used by traders and analysts.
- Enhance and maintain cloud-based infrastructure used to prototype and test quant models.
- Automate trading and operational processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and respond to issues impacting trading activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across New York, Stamford, and Houston in a fast-paced trading environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject (or related quantitative field) from a premier academic institution.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience.
- Strong practical skills with Python (e.g., pandas, numpy, plotly, Jupyter).
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design.
- Knowledge of probability, statistics, linear algebra, and numerical methods.
- Experience with SQL and large datasets; ability to communicate with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Computer Science/Math/Statistics/Physics.
- Comfort with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including cloud-native microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with time series analysis, forecasting, or optimization methods.
- Experience building AI agentic workflows to retrieve/process data.
- Exposure to energy, commodities, financial markets, power markets, emissions markets, or energy systems.
