What you will do

• Lead and motivate a medicinal chemistry team to deliver high-quality clinical candidates.
• Implement state-of-the-art medicinal chemistry strategies and design efficient synthetic routes.
• Provide expert guidance across related disciplines including DMPK, biology, and computational chemistry.
• Drive multi-disciplinary project teams and manage overall strategy for portfolio projects.
• Mentor and develop internal talent through continuous teaching and scientific leadership.
• Ensure molecules meet profiles required for rapid progression into clinical trials.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in medicinal chemistry within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
• Proven track record of success in delivering clinical candidates from Hit ID to delivery.
• Expert knowledge of organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry literature, and structure-based drug design.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing medicinal chemistry teams.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to drive dynamic, fast-paced projects.
• Must be able to work on-site in Oxford, UK, five days per week.
