Location: Must live within a commutable distance of Milton Park, Oxfordshire (UK); minimum 3 days per week in-person. Must have the right to work and live in the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Define and implement the strategic editorial vision for PeerJ to align with organizational goals and the scientific community.
• Oversee scientific quality, editorial integrity, and the implementation of rigorous peer review processes.
• Represent the journal at high-profile scientific conferences and industry events to promote its mission.
• Manage the recruitment, training, and mentoring of the Editorial Board and editorial team.
• Develop strategic partnerships with research institutions, funding bodies, and scientific societies.
• Monitor research trends and KPIs to enhance the journal's global visibility and impact.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant scientific discipline (preferred).
• Significant experience in senior editorial roles within scientific publishing.
• Extensive knowledge of open access publishing models and publication ethics.
• Must have the right to work and live in the United Kingdom.
• Must be based within a commutable distance of the Oxfordshire office.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
