Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Salary: $145,000 - $175,000

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the ActionKit codebase, including new features, refactoring, and performance tuning.
• Shape product direction by proposing ideas and refining client feedback into concrete plans.
• Provide direct client support via email and participate in discovery calls.
• Contribute to operations, monitoring, and tooling to ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with teammates through code reviews and documentation.

Requirements

• Experience building database-backed web applications using frameworks like Django or Ruby on Rails.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to discuss technical tradeoffs.
• Must be based in the US and unable to provide sponsorship for employment authorization.
• Ability to take ownership of feature design and execution.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Django, MySQL, and AWS.
• Background working with nonprofits or political organizations.
• Experience across the full software business lifecycle (Development, Ops, QA, Support).
