Country Manager - Malaysia (Fintech)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid

What you will do

• Lead market strategy and partnerships in Malaysia to enable local payment processing for international merchants.
• Identify acquiring banks and other partners, build relationships, and negotiate and execute commercial agreements.
• Coordinate with operations, product, and technology teams on partnership integrations and road maps.
• Analyze payment performance and improve operational capabilities across payment methods.
• Work with merchants and commercial teams on key product development.
• Engage with local lawyers, accountants, tax experts, regulators, and professional organizations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in payments or other financial systems in Asia.
• Significant experience negotiating and executing contracts and commercial agreements.
• Established relevant business network and thorough knowledge of the Malaysian market.
• Experience building partnerships and working cross-functionally in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to compliance and understanding of Malaysia’s regulatory and licensing environment.
• Ability to work across time zones with globally distributed teams and lead or contribute to cross-functional projects.
