Cloud API Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and build control-plane services including tenant management, quota, billing, and RBAC.
• Architect the split between global and regional control planes to ensure cross-region consistency.
• Develop self-service onboarding and automation to eliminate manual delivery bottlenecks.
• Ensure the correctness and auditability of billing and metering systems.
• Create operational tooling for detection, isolation, and recovery to enhance system stability.
• Develop region-aware scheduling and placement in collaboration with the Compute team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building backend services or cloud control planes (6+ years for Senior level).
• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or Python.
• Expertise in API design and distributed systems.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS or cloud control planes.
• Knowledge of RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, and auditing.
• Must be based in or able to work from Singapore, Penang, or Taiwan.

Nice to have

• Frontend experience with React or Vue for full-stack contributions.
• Experience with multi-region distributed consistency.
