TL;DR

Health and Safety Associate (Facilities): Coordinating and administering occupational health and safety programs for hirify.global Facilities with an accent on regulatory compliance, hazard identification, and risk control. Focus on developing safety training, conducting site inspections, and ensuring adherence to ISO 45001 and WorkSafeBC standards.

Location: Must be based in Vancouver, BC, Canada (hirify.global Vancouver Campus).

Salary: $6,438.50 - $9,255.58 CAD Monthly

What you will do

  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety programs including hazard identification, asbestos management, and emergency response.
  • Conduct site visits, worksite inspections, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver health and safety training sessions for faculty and staff through in-person and online platforms.
  • Investigate and assess occupational exposures and incidents in collaboration with safety advisors.
  • Maintain program documentation, write safe work procedures, and prepare statistical safety reports.
  • Represent the department on Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees.

Requirements

  • College diploma in a relevant discipline (Undergraduate degree preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to inspect diverse jobsites including rooftops, crawlspaces, and attics, and ability to wear required PPE.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations, Workers Compensation Act, and WHMIS.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to deliver training and resolve conflicts.

Nice to have

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
  • Experience with database management.
