Procurement Manager (Software)

TL;DR

Procurement Manager (Software): Leading category planning and strategic sourcing for BT’s IT Software category with an accent on Colleague Experience & Productivity. Location: Hybrid in Dublin, Ireland (three days a week in office, two days working from home)

What you will do

• Develop and deliver category strategies and sourcing plans that support business priorities and transformation goals.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including market analysis, supplier evaluation, RFx processes, and contract execution.
• Manage category spend and supplier performance to drive commercial value, cost optimisation, and risk reduction.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure procurement solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Negotiate and manage commercial and contractual agreements with key IT software suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and risk management frameworks.

Requirements

• Experience in IT software procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
• Proven ability to lead complex software sourcing programmes from strategy development through to implementation.
• Track record of delivering commercial value, cost savings, and risk reduction.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Dublin, Ireland.

Nice to have

• Experience managing strategic relationships with major enterprise software vendors.
• Knowledge of software licensing models, SAM, and SaaS agreements.
• Experience supporting cloud migration or technology-enabled business change programmes.
• MCIPS qualification or equivalent professional procurement accreditation.
• Experience using SAP Ariba or similar contract lifecycle management platforms.
