What you will do

• Design and implement realistic VFX for weapons, gunfire, and explosions in Unreal Engine 5.
• Create environmental visual effects specifically for urban combat settings.
• Develop clear, readable, and telegraphing effects to ensure gameplay legibility in competitive contexts.
• Collaborate with Design, Animation, and Character teams to maintain visual consistency across the project.
• Optimize visual effects for performance without sacrificing high visual fidelity.
• Establish VFX standards for a world blending combat realism and sci-fi visuals.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a VFX Artist in the video game industry.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in weapon effects, explosions, and urban combat environments.
• Expertise and strong experience with Unreal Engine 5.
• Deep knowledge of particle systems and shaders.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Montreal, QC.

Nice to have

• Experience with realistic FPS games.
• Knowledge of Houdini.
• Familiarity with other game engines.
