Lead Character Artist (Body/Crowd, Face, Hair & Wardrobe): Own and drive character quality at scale by translating art direction into high-quality real-time character assets with an accent on modular, scalable pipelines and performance/LOD/runtime constraints. Focus on leading character artists, integrating with Tech Art/Animation/Design, and building specialty systems for body & crowd, hair & wardrobe, or face & facial systems.
Location: Montreal office (must be willing to work in the Montreal office at least 4 days a week); must be legally authorized to work in Canada

What you will do
- Translate art direction into high-quality real-time character assets for hero and large-scale population systems
- Lead, mentor, and review work from a team of character artists
- Own visual quality, consistency, and scalability across your specialty track
- Partner with Technical Art, Animation, and Design to ensure seamless integration
- Build and evolve modular, scalable pipelines for large-scale production
- Ensure assets meet performance, LOD, and runtime requirements; improve workflows for efficiency and growth
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in AAA game development with extensive depth in character art
- Prior experience as a Lead on at least one shipped AAA title
- Proven people leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration experience
- Deep understanding of real-time character pipelines and experience building modular, reusable character systems
- Must be willing to work in the Montreal office at least 4 days a week
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Nice to have
- Unreal Engine 5 production experience
- Procedural or systemic character workflows
- Experience with outsourcing partners or large distributed teams
- Open world or large-scale production experience
- Experience with inclusivity-focused realistic representation and believable populations
