What you will do

• Establish reliability engineering practices for the Government Cloud, including system mapping and runbook creation.
• Design high-availability and fault-tolerant infrastructure on Azure and Azure Government.
• Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, while leading incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Close observability gaps by defining instrumentation requirements and implementing alerting and telemetry standards.
• Build and maintain IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and release validation in air-gapped or compliance-restricted environments.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across product, security, and compliance teams to own problems end-to-end.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States to meet clearance and GovCloud access requirements.
• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, with 3+ years in SRE or Platform Engineering.
• Proven experience with Government or Sovereign Clouds (e.g., Azure Government, AWS GovCloud).
• Expertise in regulated compliance environments such as FedRAMP, CMMC, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
• Proficiency in Azure services and IaC tools like Terraform, Terragrunt, or Pulumi.
• Programming skills in TypeScript/JS, Go, Java, or C#.

Nice to have

• Experience with B2B SaaS platforms in government markets.
• Background in chaos engineering, resilience testing, or performance load testing.
• Experience building an SRE function from the ground up.
• Familiarity with AI-first development workflows and LLM-powered automation tools.
