What you will do

  • Lead the management and implementation of the insurance-backed anticipatory action programme.
  • Provide technical leadership on trigger development and risk analytics for early warning systems.
  • Coordinate with key partners such as OCHA and WFP to leverage shared risk frameworks.
  • Support country offices in programme implementation and operational delivery.
  • Monitor, report, and manage knowledge related to anticipatory action and disaster risk finance.
  • Contribute to broader organizational workstreams on disaster risk finance and resilience-building.

Requirements

  • Master or equivalent degree in international development, disaster risk management, humanitarian affairs, economics, or public policy.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian action, anticipatory action, or disaster risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience in programme coordination and multi-stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven exposure to risk analysis, trigger development, or early warning systems.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Experience in budget tracking or financial monitoring.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
  • Familiarity with innovative financing mechanisms or data-driven approaches.
  • Relevant experience at the country level in development or fragile humanitarian contexts.
