Описание вакансии
TL;DR
Staff Autonomy Engineer (MHE Vision): Own the core autonomy software stack for a vision-powered warehouse platform, building perception, localization, and inventory scanning pipelines on vehicle-mounted embedded compute with an accent on real-world robustness. Focus on designing and implementing detection/localization algorithms under noisy, dynamic conditions and on reliable scan triggering, location mapping, and cloud data handoff.
Location: Open to Remote (USA); Pittsburgh, PA
Company
builds a vision-powered warehouse intelligence platform using autonomous drones and existing material-handling equipment.
What you will do
- Own the autonomy software stack for MHE Vision, including perception, localization, and inventory scanning pipelines running on vehicle-mounted embedded compute.
- Drive product autonomy stack architecture as the system scales to more vehicle types, facility layouts, and customer configurations.
- Document existing systems, plan future revisions, and lead design improvements and testing.
- Design and implement algorithms to reliably detect, identify, and record inventory locations as forklifts and drones move through warehouse aisles under variable lighting, occlusion, and motion.
- Improve scan accuracy and coverage via algorithmic improvements, sensor integration, and tighter coordination with ML perception models.
- Build and maintain scan triggering, location mapping, and data handoff systems to the cloud platform; diagnose and resolve issues on deployed systems using logs and field observations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building autonomy, robotics, or perception systems that run on physical hardware in production.
- Strong C++ and Python experience for software running on embedded or resource-constrained compute platforms.
- Hands-on experience with computer vision pipelines for camera-based detection, localization, or tracking in real-world environments.
- Experience debugging deployed systems using log-based diagnosis and field iteration.
- Staff-level capability: set technical direction, make consequential architecture decisions, and take end-to-end ownership.
Nice to have
- Experience with ROS2 or similar robotics middleware in production.
- Background in warehouse, logistics, or industrial automation environments.
- Familiarity with sensor fusion, calibration, or multi-camera systems.
- Experience with SLAM, odometry, or other localization approaches on mobile platforms.
Culture & Benefits
- Work on autonomy software that runs on real systems in live warehouse deployments with real constraints.
- High technical ownership as a Staff-level individual contributor shaping accuracy and reliability of customer-critical inventory data.
- Close collaboration with hardware, field deployment, and ML teams to improve deployed performance.
Hiring process
- Interviews focused on autonomy/perception system design, real-world debugging, and end-to-end ownership.
- Technical evaluation of experience with embedded robotics and computer vision pipelines.
