What you will do

• Design and implement trajectory planning algorithms for AUV close-range inspection.
• Develop solutions for the inspection of critical underwater infrastructure such as pipelines and offshore structures.
• Plan, support, and evaluate simulations as well as maritime field trials.
• Analyze relevant sensor and navigation data using ROS2 and modern C++ libraries.
• Collaborate with universities and research institutions on joint R&D projects in autonomous systems.

Requirements

• Degree in robotics, computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
• Several years of professional experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or maritime robotics.
• In-depth knowledge of trajectory planning, navigation, and control.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and practical experience with ROS2-based systems.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Bremen location.

Nice to have

• Experience with AUVs, sensor fusion, or underwater navigation.
