Senior Lead Database Reliability Engineer (PostgreSQL)

What you will do

• Drive the technical roadmap for PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and other managed cloud database services.
• Develop Kubernetes operators and Infrastructure as Code using Go or Python to automate provisioning, failover, and lifecycle management.
• Define service level objectives (SLOs) and lead the resolution of critical production incidents through continuous improvement.
• Optimize database performance and cost across cloud and on-premises environments via capacity planning and resource efficiency.
• Partner with application teams to establish safe database practices, including schema reviews and zero-downtime deployment processes.
• Leverage AI for intelligent observability, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis to improve engineering productivity.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Database Reliability, Platform Engineering, or SRE with technical leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and operational experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, ScyllaDB, or Aerospike.
• Strong experience operating stateful workloads on Kubernetes using Terraform, Pulumi, ArgoCD, GKE, or EKS.
• Hands-on software development skills in Go or Python for creating automation and platform tooling.
• Must be based in the US and capable of obtaining a gaming license issued by state agencies.
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve design and coding workflows.
