What you will do
- Administer and maintain client network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
- Operate and tune security tooling such as EDR/XDR, SIEM, and identity platforms (Entra ID, Okta).
- Design and deploy Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions, specifically utilizing Cloudflare edge, access, and tunnel services.
- Implement and enforce hardening standards aligned with CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53/171, and ITSG-33.
- Support active incident response engagements by isolating systems, preserving evidence, and rebuilding infrastructure under pressure.
- Produce technical client deliverables, including network diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and IR action logs.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on experience with multi-vendor firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, and/or Cisco) including routing, switching, and segmentation.
- Proven track record of client-facing consulting, with the ability to explain technical risks to non-technical executive leadership.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and ZTNA fundamentals (identity-centric access, least privilege).
- Practical experience delivering ZTNA solutions, with a strong preference for Cloudflare One/Zero Trust.
- Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and extended shifts during critical incident response events.
- Eligibility for Government of Canada security clearance (Secret or higher).
Nice to have
- Bilingualism in English and French.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP Security, NSE, PCNSA, MS-102, AZ-104, CISSP Associate, GCIH, or GCFA.
- Familiarity with Linux administration and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with SIEM/EDR platforms like Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, CrowdStrike, or Splunk.
