Staff Information Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Owning threat detection and response capabilities end-to-end with an accent on multi-cloud platform protection and sensitive data safeguarding. Focus on building high-fidelity detections using detection-as-code, integrating Generative AI for operations, and leading complex incident command.

Location: Fixed hybrid work model in Vancouver, BC, Canada (3 days a week in office: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Salary: $130,000 - $170,000 /year + bonus

What you will do

• Design and operate a cohesive detection pipeline across multi-cloud, SaaS, identity, and endpoint telemetry.
• Build, test, and tune high-fidelity detections using a detection-as-code framework mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK matrix.
• Author robust playbooks, runbooks, and escalation criteria for security incident containment.
• Lead blameless post-incident reviews and translate findings into automated detections and architectural hardening.
• Partner with software developers and SREs to convert vulnerabilities and risks into targeted defensive rules.
• Integrate and pioneer the use of Generative AI tools to accelerate detection development and alert triage.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in information security, specifically scaling threat detection or incident response programs.
• Expert-level detection engineering skills with modern SIEM environments (Splunk Enterprise Security preferred).
• Deep technical experience building threat coverage across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and EDR telemetry.
• Proven experience as an Incident Commander steering cross-functional teams through high-pressure security incidents.
• Hands-on coding proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation pipelines and response playbooks.
• Must be based in Vancouver, BC, Canada to support the fixed hybrid office schedule.
