Manager Software Engineering (PropTech)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with remote and onsite arrangements

Colliers is a global commercial real estate company developing technology solutions through its newly established Madrid Technology Hub.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop software engineering teams within a product line.
• Own on-time, on-budget delivery, project scope, milestones, resourcing, and release quality.
• Partner with Product Owners, Software Architects, DevOps, and Engineering Operations to manage risks and remove delivery blockers.
• Promote engineering excellence through code quality oversight, peer reviews, architectural design, CI/CD, automation, documentation, and process improvements.
• Track and improve engineering KPIs such as velocity, quality, incidents, and team satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with technology standards, information security policies, and regulatory requirements including ISO and GDPR.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in engineering management.
• Experience with modern software development, open-source technology stacks, agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and cloud-native architecture.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a product-oriented environment.
• Fluent English and Spanish, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of secure development practices and compliance frameworks such as ISO27001, GDPR, and SOC2.

Nice to have

• Experience in a global, multicultural organization.
• Scrum Professional, SAFe Agilist, or cloud architecture certifications.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or Miro.
• Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment and driving change in larger organizations.
