Engineering Team Lead (AI)

Location: Barcelona or Madrid, Spain; office-first hybrid schedule with on-site work several days a week

Salary: €62,000–€71,000 annual

What you will do

• Lead a team of 4–7 engineers while continuing to write production code every week.
• Design, build, review, and ship full-stack features, APIs, integrations, and AI-powered workflows.
• Pair on complex problems, review pull requests, write RFCs, and unblock engineers.
• Shape the product roadmap with the team based on customer and business needs.
• Run weekly 1:1s, mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and improve team practices.
• Guide the transition toward AI-native product development using safe and practical engineering practices.

Requirements

• Experience leading or acting as a technical lead for a small engineering team.
• Strong full-stack experience shipping and maintaining production software, with regular hands-on coding.
• Experience designing APIs such as REST or GraphQL and building integrations.
• Experience solving scalability, performance, and software quality challenges in production.
• Experience building or contributing to AI-powered features or workflows released to production.
• Ability to work on-site several days a week from the Barcelona or Madrid office.
