Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid: 2-3 days in office)

Salary: $140,000 - $215,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable backend services for internal and customer-facing applications.
• Architect supporting systems including databases, real-time data pipelines, and monitoring solutions.
• Create intuitive command-line utilities and APIs for platform ecosystem integration.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including UX/UI and Sensors to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain high availability for production services through advanced monitoring and alerting.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and architectural improvements.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of production experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Advanced programming expertise in object-oriented languages (Golang or Python).
• Proven experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed communication patterns.
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS preferred, plus Azure and GCP).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems (concurrency, sharding, eventual consistency, caching).
• Proficiency with message queues (Kafka) and database versatility (PostgreSQL, Redis).

Nice to have

• Machine learning or AI implementation experience.
• Expertise in Elasticsearch, Cassandra, or graph databases.
• Cybersecurity industry experience or relevant certifications.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
