Technical Underwriter

TL;DR

Technical Underwriter (Insurance): Supporting a Dutch market platform modernization by validating localized insurance products, clauses, and underwriting rules while also handling day-to-day underwriting execution. Focus on translating insurance logic into system requirements, performing core system gap analysis, and ensuring Dutch policy wording and regulatory compliance across digital workflows.

What you will do

• Review localized product setup and specific clauses in the new system to ensure accuracy.
• Align policy wording, schedules, and customer-facing documentation with Dutch market standards.
• Audit and validate underwriting workflows and digital user journeys from underwriting and broker/customer perspectives.
• Validate underwriting business rules (Accept/Referral/Decline), coverage limits, and deductibles within the technical setup.
• Support daily underwriting operations with risk assessments and broker queries to maintain business continuity.

Requirements

• Strong underwriting or insurance product management experience in the Dutch market (Commercial or Personal lines).
• Dutch: Native or business-fluent (written and verbal) is required.
• Professional English proficiency is required for project collaboration.
• Experience with insurance core system migrations, platform development, or detailed gap analysis is highly preferred.
• Deep attention to Dutch policy wordings, regulatory standards, and market nuances.
• Ability to work autonomously and balance project deadlines with ongoing operational underwriting tasks.
