What you will do
- Own the full solution lifecycle from initial requirements and POCs to scaled production solutions.
- Build and optimize complex ETL and reverse ETL pipelines utilizing Python and Airflow.
- Architect and evolve the "firelake" data lake on AWS and Snowflake to ensure stability and performance.
- Implement AI-driven engineering workflows to automate PRs and integrate LLMs into data solutions.
- Enforce data governance, PII masking, and sophisticated row/column-level security practices.
- Lead concurrent cross-departmental projects and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data or software engineering with deep knowledge of the full data lifecycle.
- Advanced SQL optimization and extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- 5+ years of advanced Python programming.
- Strong proficiency in AWS cloud environments, Terraform, and Docker.
- Deep operational experience with Airflow and dbt (3+ years).
- Must be based in Canada.
Nice to have
- Foundational knowledge or experience in MLOps strategy.
- Experience interfacing with LLMs or creating AI agents.
