Staff Data Engineer (QuickBooks Capital and Lending)

Salary: $202,500 - $274,000 (base pay range)

What you will do

• Understand functional requirements, produce technical designs/specifications, and implement, test, and support data engineering solutions.
• Size medium-to-large complexity work and manage timelines and deliveries.
• Design and develop software using data engineering technologies (data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines).
• Spend 90% hands-on time designing, coding, testing, and supporting production systems, including on-call.
• Resolve defects during testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, other engineering teams, and business units using Agile/Scrum or Extreme Programming.

Requirements

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years developing data engineering pipelines using Python, PySpark, Spark, SQL, DataBricks, AWS, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
• 7+ years working with Big Data technologies.
• Extensive experience with Python and Spark.
• Proven ability to understand and work within a large existing codebase.
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
