Field Operator – Traditional Locator (Engineering)

TL;DR

Field Operator (Traditional Locator): Operating underground discovery tools and identifying underground assets with an accent on electromagnetic, magnetic, and GPR sensors. Focus on resolving operational issues on-site and documenting infrastructure reports.

Location: Remote (California-based preferred). Must be able to travel domestically across the US (up to 100%) and reside within driving distance of a major airport

Salary: $33-35/hr + OT

What you will do

• Operate underground discovery tools using patented carts and drones.
• Identify underground assets using electromagnetic, magnetic, metal, GPR, and seismic sensors.
• Utilize traditional utility locating equipment and industry-standard methods.
• Resolve operational issues on-site in coordination with R&D and operation managers.
• Document site information and operation reports in organizational software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with traditional utility locating / SUE / underground utility locating field operations
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel domestically across the US (up to 100%)
• English: C1+ (read/write/speak) mandatory
• Physical ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours and handle equipment weighing 20-40 lbs.
• Flexibility for night shifts and a 2 week on/1 week off rotation.

Nice to have

• Background in earth sciences, engineering, construction or utility mapping.
• OSHA 10 Certificate.
• FAA part 107 drone pilot certification.
• Experience in transportation, utilities, and construction industries.
