Finance Systems Engineer (Revenue)

TL;DR

Finance Systems Engineer (Fullstack): Building and owning the quote-to-cash infrastructure and homegrown financial applications with an accent on API integrations, revenue recognition, and SOX compliance. Focus on designing scalable financial pipelines, automating month-end close processes, and developing production-grade tools for Accounting and RevOps.

Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA). Must be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Salary: $205,000 - $270,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the architecture, development, and maintenance of internal finance applications and administration of platforms like Zuora and Workday.
• Build and maintain complex integrations across the Finance stack, including Stripe, NetSuite, Salesforce, and BigQuery.
• Design auditable and observable system integrations compliant with SOX requirements.
• Automate manual, error-prone month-end close workflows with production-grade solutions.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Revenue Operations to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Develop technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and implement observability tooling for pipeline monitoring.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience with a track record of owning full-stack builds from architecture to production.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/Node.js.
• Experience building production-grade system integrations (REST APIs, event-driven pipelines, or ETL).
• Strong SQL skills for analysis and reconciliation using BigQuery, Postgres, or similar platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco or Seattle to meet hybrid office requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with iPaaS platforms like Workato or MuleSoft.
• Technical experience with Zuora, CPQ, NetSuite, Workday, or Stripe.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition or consumption-based billing models.
• Experience building SOX-compliant systems or supporting external audits.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code.
