TL;DR
Silicon Photonics Intern (PhD): Contributing to the design, verification, and validation of integrated high-speed optical components with an accent on photonic device modeling and RF validation. Focus on utilizing industry-standard EDA tools and semiconductor physics to support the full product lifecycle from inception to NPI.
Location: Must be based in Ottawa, Canada
Salary: $32β$43 per hour

What you will do
- Understand product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform photonics device modeling using commercial simulation software.
- Collaborate with the Optics team on hardware validation and data analysis.
- Utilize design automation EDA software for product development.
- Participate in system-level testing under various operating conditions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Photonics.
- Strong understanding of photonic device and semiconductor physics.
- Experience with component design, modeling, and RF validation.
- Proficiency with industry-standard photonics simulation tools.
- Knowledge of standard Si/CMOS/MEMS process technologies for fabrication.
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law.
