Payroll Specialist Lead (Portugal)

What you will do

• Process full end-to-end payroll, including statutory filings, exceptions, approvals, payments, and compliance.
• Act as the country payroll subject matter expert and ensure data integrity and quality.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders across Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering.
• Prepare payroll journals and reconciliations while focusing on KPIs and SLAs.
• Implement and improve payroll processes and productivity.
• Mentor and support payroll specialists and back up regional managers during absences.

Requirements

• Experience processing end-to-end payroll in-house or within a payroll service provider.
• Knowledge of payroll best practices and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with Excel and Google Suite.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced international environment and largely asynchronously.
