TL;DR

Intermediate Instructional Systems Designer (Education): Designing and developing high-quality training and performance support solutions for DoD customers with an accent on adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies. Focus on creating interactive multimedia content, ensuring SCORM/Section 508 compliance, and integrating military aviation maintenance expertise.

Location: Remote (initially), must convert to full-time in-person in Huntsville, AL (non-negotiable)

Salary: $43.27 per hour

What you will do

• Apply the ADDIE model to design, develop, and evaluate instructional materials for instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced eLearning environments.
• Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to gather content and validate instructional approaches.
• Develop instructional strategies, learning objectives, storyboards, course content, assessments, and evaluation metrics.
• Create engaging interactive multimedia learning content while ensuring SCORM compliance and Section 508 accessibility.
• Analyze existing training programs to recommend improvements or new course development.
• Support the development of CDRL deliverables and handle customer-facing documentation.

Requirements

• Prior military aviation maintenance and aviation training experience is absolutely required.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training Development, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in instructional design, with at least 3 years supporting DoD or federal government training initiatives.
• Proficiency in eLearning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.

Nice to have

• Air Education and Training Command (or service equivalent) experience.
• Maintenance or Instructor experience on US Air Force or US Navy fighter aircraft.
• Experience developing content for virtual or VR/AR environments.
• Experience in Game Design using Unity or Unreal engine.
• Active Secret Clearance.
