TL;DR
Software Engineer, Frontend (Aerospace) (TypeScript): Building and shipping features for a unified Mission Command web platform used to manage satellite constellations, schedule contacts, and monitor tasking at scale with an accent on reliable, high-performance, accessible interfaces. Focus on owning features from design through deployment, integrating automated testing and observability, and maintaining operational health in a mission-critical space environment.

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California; on-site three days per week.

Salary: $156,000–$186,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

  • Build and ship features across the unified Mission Command web platform.
  • Develop reliable, high-performance, and accessible interfaces for satellite operators, customers, and internal users.
  • Own features end-to-end from design and implementation through deployment, documentation, testing, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions while contributing to shared platform foundations.
  • Collaborate with backend and product teams to define requirements.
  • Monitor operational health, respond to issues, and improve feature reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with strongly typed frontend languages such as TypeScript or Flow.
  • Experience contributing to complex web applications.
  • Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines and static analysis enforcement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on end users and long-term outcomes.
  • Passion for semantically correct, stable, clean code and experience with version control in large, fast-moving teams.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI-assisted or agentic coding tools such as Codex or Claude Code.
  • Experience with SSR, React Server Components, isomorphic code, 3D applications, interactive mapping, or geospatial data visualization.
  • Experience with large cross-team monorepos and accessibility-focused component libraries such as React Aria or Radix UI.
  • Experience with frontend observability tooling such as Grafana Faro, OpenTelemetry, or Sentry.
  • Exposure to the aerospace or space industry, satellite operations, mission-critical software, CI/CD workflows, Docker, Helm, or automated dependency management.
